Found me a combine

After taking my time and looking for a while I have finally nailed down a John Deere 95 combine. I didnt know if I wanted a 105 or a 95 but after finding a 612 corn head from a fellow member I decided to go with a 95. My criteria was that it had to be a 1969 model and it had to be in excellent original condition. This one is close to home so ill be able to drive it home soon. It met my criteria but I do wish it was a diesel so that might be done sooner than later. Thanks to all who have answered questions in the past when i have posted.

I need to go out to my shed to see if my wife or daughter sold you my 95 combine.LOL That machine sure looks like a good one. I am changing my 95 to a 329 diesel right now and hope to be finished by wheat harvest. It is nice to see other interested in these older combines as well. Tom

Nice buy. I prefer the 105 because they had better engines. But it looks like you are going to fix that on your 95. Good luck!!

Looking AT this post I just had to say something. >>> Had a neighbor that had a JD 95 combine. Oh how I always wanted to operate that thing. Never got the chance, But never forgot it. I don't remember the year but I think it was in the 50"s, I know it did not have a cab on it. Then several years later I was hauling a combine from Ia. to near Syracuse NY I stopped at exit what is now 72 or 73 at Toledo Oh. Got fuel and something to eat and this Sailor came out to the fuel island and was looking for a ride East. I hadn't seen a military man hitch hiking in years, Any way I said after I eat you can go as far as Syracuse with me. He said great. So when we got ready to go I see him out there walking around the trailer looking at the combine I got in and he got in and I said to him have you ever been around a combine before ? He looks down and says >> "Spent a lot of time on a 95" From there to Syracuse we had a lot to talk about.

I'm green with envy! You just got to love a good old 95 to work with, I've had 2 sense 1988 and there hard to beat. Bandit

I hate to think i have gotten to a point in my life where i can say back in the day, but i have. When i was growing up dad and grandpa ran a 6600, but i went on wheat harvest and started running a 9600, after wheat was done we would head into eastern colorado, burlington, and harvest dry beans around. We would run all 95 & 105 combines with pickup attachments. All diesels with hydros. the guys i was running with had probably 10 machines, several runners and several parts machines.

I still hate swamp coolers...
