McCormick No 91

Apparently the guy didn't let it sell at auction last week - that or the new owner is wondering just why he bought it. Advertised for $2500.

I hadn't noticed it was missing the unloading auger. Guess it's not running as he only says the engine is not stuck - hardly a ringing endorsement.

I was at a scrap iron yard about 3 or 4 years ago in SE Kansas where there was a MINT Model 91. The combine had very low hours and had never sat outside. I mean this thing was nice. The old fellow that owned it died, and the widow sold everything to a junker, probably for nothing.

Unfortunately I was too late. The engine had already been torched off and sold to someone else, I assume to put in a tractor or something, and the platform had been torched off, and the front wheels were gone. I cried for a week over that one. I took pictures of the remains, and thought about buying them, but too much carving on it already.

Looks wise, it looked far better than the one in the picture, but may not have been.

Sure do wish we had a transport cart like that with ours, we did 200 acres of beans one year over 5 farms, and that was one slow boat to road from farm to farm. The 93 wasn't so bad, and a dragster by comparison. Our 91 had a cab like that after many years of eating dust from the beans, the 93 never got one
