Weevil Question

Since corn is discussed on here I thought some of you might could answer this for me, I still have a good amount of shelled and cob corn left over from last years harvest, just wondering if you guys might know a way to slow down or keep those small black weevils out of it? Ones I'm talking about bore down the top of the kernel and leave a small pin hole, I've seen some on the cob corn already and need to do something before I have major issues. Someone suggested sassafras limbs, any truth to that??

Can you sell it then problem is over. You can treat the shell corn with insecticide when you auger it into the bin. I don't know if anything is available to sprinkle over the top. Ask your county agent or ask at the elevator.

If it is in a grain bin with a fan you can blow dry insecticide in and it works fairly well.

Not used it on corn as I don't grow any, but I use diotomatious earth to treat grain that has bugs in it, it helps to have a fan too, bit the diotomatious earth stops the weevils "breathing"...
