International #91 Combine

What is one actually worth? The last one I saw sell with a canvas cab and two headers went over $10.000. This one has a cab and a single 10' header.

Our family had one when I was a little kid. Just a fair combine if I remember correctly they traded for a 715 after my dad quit farming in 1974. I would say today a functioning one ought to be worth $2k. There's lots better combines to be had for a little more money

Did you say $10,000, or did you mean $1000.00? I remember that one- had wondered what it brought.

I bought mine for $425.00, a few (4?) years ago. Ran and drove and worked - did need some TLC before using it for harvesting.

I see that the one on the sale bill has the optional mud guards on it, by the right wheel. Those are nice to have.
Being a Mcormick, it is an early one. The one with the INTERNATIONAL logo were the later ones.

That one looks to be in really good shape. The super tiny, impossible to find muffler is still even on it! Where is the reel? Or is it a pickup unit?

I would say just check the bearings on the main shaft that drives the cylinder. The one under the operator panel can be a bugger to replace. That is usually the one to go - the ground drive belt runs on a pulley under there. If you are going to drive it any distance, check the drive chains - they can be loose.

I really enjoy mine. I also enjoy the forearm work out that I get steering the thing.

Best of luck!

It brought over $10,000 (ten thousand). They had a phone bidder that was looking to buy it for a museum and a local impliment dealer bidding on it. The phone bidder had $10,000 and the impliment dealer (Mienhardt in Wamego) gave the next bid and owned it. You can see it on the east lot of Kan Equip's lot sitting under a canopy with a Gleaner that looks to be just about as old.

Wasn't the $10,000 one in NC Kansas? I hear that Meinhardt is building a museum...I looked his stuff over in 2007...Thats a nice looking 91 IH thats selling Saturday at New Strawn,KS..In my opinion its worth $1500-2500 as a collector combine..Theres at least 4 sales I would like to attend Saturday but the one at Lathrop,MO with the rare tractors wins.

I have an extra 91 IH that I would sell..It has a corn head and the engine is free...It was in a shed but the paint isn't that great..The 1st picture is the $10,000 91 IH and the 2nd picture is the 91 IH as I found it that I would sell..

That one was just north of Wamego - by Manhattan KS. Person bought a farm and the sellers made the equipment part of the transaction. New owner then had a auction to sell off everything he didn't want - which was about 99% of the stuff.

yep ,, ihc had a couple models without steering wheels ,,. b-I-l dad had a 101 ? ,, decent machie that had brake levers ,, but I could be wrong ,,.cant get the link of pix to open ,..

Steering was by use of clutches and epi-cyclic gears on drive to each side, pull lever part way back and drive to the wheel on that side was de-clutched (like a crawler) pull lever all the way back and wheel reversed at lower speed than forward on still driving side, so did not quite spin on the spot. Two forward gears plus variable speed belt drive, reverse was obtained via the steering levers. The rear wheels just castored.

There was also a planetary steering option on the 93- never seen one in person, just the brochure pics. We had a 91 and a wheel-steer 93, the 91 worked great in beans with the windrow pickup, spin right around for the next windrow
