Any update? Pulled up the July, 2014 thread today and wondered of your progress. Can't wait to see that ole' girl finally in your possession!

Since you asked.
I have managed to get the header off and home. Cut a few trees in preparation of getting it out. Tires are aired up. I have made a stiff hitch to clamp to the rear axle to pull / push it with. Hydraulic hoses and fittings to go into the steering cylinder so I can steer it as it is being moved with a tractor.

Now for my life story - it is a complete mess.
Shortly after buying this combine everything that could go wrong did. In December my fathers health started to decline. His wish was to stay in the home that he grew up in and had lived 81 of his 87 years. My two sisters and I were his caregivers. He passed away last Tuesday, the funeral was yesterday. He lived a good life. He was taken to his final resting place on the 1964 Ford he bought new. It was his "Baby" and it was only fitting that it was our last run together.

On a positive note, someone came into my life last fall. She is very good to me and I have devoted time to making things work out with her.

I have gone on too long. Hoping things get straightened out and the 5297 is home soon.

Roger,I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad...He lived a good long life and made his final trip in style...May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow...

Sorry to hear about your father passing away, I met him at the Winfield show a few yrs back, Had a very nice visit with him.
You did right with using his nice old truck, A sad but nice picture of it , It fit the ocassion perfect. clint and Lee Ann.
