CIH 1660 question

And I hope not a stupid question. Any reason why I would want small grain concaves for the 1660? Only used the combine one time on corn and my memory is not working up to speed to day but I thought it was fairly adjustable with what is in it. What are "small grain concaves"?

I'd say if you are going to run wheat or oats (or other small grains).

My 1660 has concaves and grates for corn. It also has a "specialty" rotor. It works fine in small grain. In fact, another axial flow combine owner stopped and asked how I got such a nice windrow of straw?! My straw is all baled. This is a damp climate. Maybe a drier area would yield different results?
