So dad and I went to a junkyard yesterday to see if we could find a good depth stop cylinder to put on our Oliver 64 drill that we finally found the parts for to convert to hydraulic lift. We found a cylinder on a 6 bottom John Deere Plow that just happened to be sitting next to an Oliver 40 combine. Now Ive been going to this junkyard since I was six years old so almost 15 years now, and I cant tell you how many times I have walked passed that combined and never thought anything of it but I had always walked past the right side of it. Well this plow we were getting parts off of was on the right hand side of it where you normally cant get to unless you climb over a bunch of crap. Well I dont know what made me walk over and look at it but when I did I got one heck of a surprise. It wasnt just a Model 40, it was one with a factory Waukasha Diesel!!! Unfortuantely the combine is almost to far gone to save so now looks like im going to have to find a nice running model 40 and get all the parts off the diesel to make one cool machine.
