John Deere 612 20" corn head

(quoted from post at 22:30:03 04/02/15) I have a John Deere 612 20" corn head that fits a John Deere 95 anybody have any idea what it might be worth?

Hey there
I have several deere that are being restored
I sure could use that corn head
My email is [email protected]
Send me some pics and a price
Thanks Doug
Happy easter

A few years ago I would have been on my way to get it. There kind of like finding hens teeth. $2000 if it rough and higher if it real good. Several years ago I found an AC 8x20" corn head and made it fit my JD 95 and it worked out great. There were not many 612 20" corn heads made and to tell the truth I have never seen one and you have the only one I have ever herd of for sale. Bandit

As you can see, nobody wants this thing ;)....

Maybe some hi-profile auction would be the way to market it.

Good luck.

I would think you would be able to sell it easy enough, You just need to get the word out there to let people know you have it. There are guys out there like me that want to go to 20" rows but dew to the lack of corn heads and the high costs of buying newer ones or having to make one they don't do it. Like I said before if I didn't have the 8x20" AC head I have now I would be at your door wanting to load it up! I have learned a lot going to 20" rows for corn and soybeans and I will never go back to 30" rows again. I have an AC 8x20 planter that all I have to do is switch the planter plates from corn to beans and change nothing else. For corn there spaced 9" apart for 35000 population and beans 84 lbs an acre @ 1 to 1 1/4" apart using the B3 soybean plates and it works out great. Don't get in a rush to sell it, Take some time to advertise it and get the word out there that you have it. There are still lots of old 95 out there running and guys wanting to make a change to 20" rows. Bandit
