71fordf100's MM 570 Customatic

In January I recived a text from 71fordf100. He wanted to know if I would help bring a Minneapolis Moline 570 Customatic combine from the west slope of Colorado across the divide to his home in Wyoming. OH YEAH ... I was ready for this adventure.
Several years ago he bought an MM corn sheller in Kansas City, I picked it up for him and brought it to my place. I loaded it on my trailer and headed west on March 5th.
His 14 year old brother Dustin is running the loader tractor.
A couple of pictures of the combine where he found it.
Lance does not have a winch on his trailer so I backed mine up close and ran the winch line out to pull it on. Dustin steered the combine onto the trailer.
Got to meet Delta Red. Steve and his wife Susan were very good help loading.
Loading crew L-R Dustin Peters, Lance Peters (71fordf100) Roger Schmidt (Roger-Kansas) Susan Spinden, Steve Spinden (Delta Red)

Thanks...Those are some really great pictures...It was the next best thing to actually being there....This forum sure helps bring some good people together....I've never been in the Delta,CO area but have been to Grand Junction and Cortez..I would like to see the Monte Vista area sometime..

Roger, when will the 5297 MM be coming home??

I have so much going on in my life that I'm not sure it will ever get here. I took time off work to help bring this 570 home. Hoping to get on the 5297 in the next 4 to 6 weeks. I am putting up a storage shed to put my toys in and that is taking a lot of my time and money.

That's cool. I didn't know any body still used them. There are a few in north central South Dakota I have seen while being up in that area. Not many here in my area and none in use.

Thanks for the pic, Roger. It is great to see photos like these. Nice to see others helping others. That is what makes old iron collecting so nice. Meeting others and helping when needed.
Great to see what other parts of the country looks like, too. clint
