Shouldn't have looked!

I was checking some auction websites for upcoming auction dates, as I have a couple pieces of equipment to sell. Figured if they don't move on craigslist soon, they'll get consigned. Saw one has a sale ending today, and they have a NH 1400 diesel/hydro, just like mine, listed. At $625 right now. Don't NEED it, but.... a backup might be nice, and Luke is nearly big enough to turn loose with one... Wish I had fewer bills and more cash. :)

Ended at $1075, plus the 10% bidders fee. Not bad for one with only 1540 hours. Had to just sit and watch though...

I know what you mean. 5 or 6 years ago I found a Case 930 diesel wheatland with hand clutch on ebay for $1499.00 with no bids on it, I had watched it for 2 weeks and I just had to have it. Good rubber new injector pump real strait sheet metal and it was just a good looking tractor. At the last second I bid $1500 and figured I would not get it as nobody would let it go for that. The screen changed with a PAY NOW ! OH CRAP! That's when reality set in, Its a 1000 miles away in Kansas! What have I done! After I paid for it and a lots of phone calls I got it hauled home for $750 threw a freight hauler in 2 days. I learned my lesson and now sit on my hands when watching on line auctions! Everything looks good on a screen and its to easy sitting in a comfy chair to hit a button to bid on something. Oh the 930 turned out to be a really good tractor. Bandit

I did the same thing, was on ebay and found a John Deere 68 Auger Wagon with the starting bid of $300 with no reserve. So at the last minute I placed a bid and got it for that, cost about 500 to get it hauled in from Iowa, after a few small repairs it works good, like you I find stuff all the time I would love to have but have to watch it go

yep ,,cost me 350 bux postage to mail a Case DC AWF from Michigan , few yrs ago , paid same for wheels and tires to come here from st paul , mn ,, both deals were a great deal , and the freight hauler done me good ...but it do add up ,, cha -ching

I've bought stuff from the Midwest for cheap and paid a lot to truck it here. On my purchases it worked out because it was either something that can't be found here and I needed it or it was something that was worthless there but high dollar here so it still saved me money to pay freight.

Its a hard thing to do that's for sure! It was cheep enough but what would it cost to get it home? Tires were probable worth what they sold it for, But sometimes you just have to let them go. Bandit

It was 90-100 miles away. Would have made a long day, but I probably would have driven it home.
Timing can be everything... and right now isn't the time for me to be buying.
