Bean Head for 303

I would like to try to put together something different for my 303 this year. The 13 foot head that is on it now is too big really, and I have worked and worked and worked on it trying to get the vibrations out of the HC cutterbar.

Its bad enough that I cant keep the pitman drive put together any more, tack welds on bearing collars and sprockets to keep things put together, have repaced needle bearing in head, adjusted over and over, had new wear parts machined, just hate it at this point and want to enjoy the old thing again.

Anyhow, I am thinking of finding a 615 feeder for it, would there be any newer model head that would have a wobble box and floating cutterbar I could make work? I work for MacDon and have toyed with the idea of building a draper, but even junk 960's bring 10 times what my old 303 is worth :

Open to suggestions!

An 810 head should have the wobble box. Most 810's in soybean areas would have had a floating cutterbar.

the 800 series would be an improvement, but you would probably have to stay with 13 foot head, I don't think I ever saw a 10 foot 810 head.

They were available. But you would have to probably look in areas were windrowing grain was common because they were used for picking up swaths. Then you would have to find another 810 header and move all the cutting parts to the smaller header.
