Model 40 All Crop

I sold my Allis Chalmers 40 All Crop to a fellow YTer this week. I bought it from the original owner 10-12 years ago and used it a time or two. My dad rode one like it for his future FIL in the early 1940s. It was originally a sacking platform model and the previous owner constructed a home made bin so he could operate it by himself, after his father passed away.

Here are a couple of pictures of it being loaded by Richard G. of Oakway, SC. Some of my photos always post twice!

Good lookin machine! The 40 is the only AC combine I have never owned or used. One of these days I am going to buy another AC pull type just to have one to use. I always liked to cut beans and wheat with one. Come to think about I don't think I have ever seen but 2 40's in my life in person and they were 100 miles from home. Bandit

For various reasons, I have always been fascinated by them. There were quite a few of them sold around here in NW NC, from what I can find out. There are fewer and fewer guys to ask about things like this!

I am happy just to say that I have owned one. I was just looking for a manual for a 40, and a man called and said that he had the combine as well as the manual!
