K gleaner carb

Finally got my K gleaner home I bought back in april.[long story] It sat well protected in a building for 15 years or so. Gas tank is gunked up and I assume carb is also. Is the carb rebuild fairly straightforward. The only carbs I have much experience with is 4 barrel holleys and 25 years ago I could about work on one of them with my eyes closed. Any special things to look out for on this carb[zenith]? All advice and wisdom appreciated. Thanks Lee

If I remember right there is a brass fuel filter in it that can be a pain to get clean, Other than that its just like any other carb for an inline chevy 6 cylinder. That brass filter is a bunch of thin brass wafers stacked to gather. Bandit

The filter that Bandit mentions will probably be your main concern. It looks like a large nut. When you unscrew it from the carb. body the brass part comes with it. If I recall correctly, you can unscrew the brass washers from the "nut", and disassemble them for cleaning.

I should add while your up there check to oil in the governor, Most people never check the oil level in them, It uses motor oil in it. Bandit

Been a few years since I did mine and it was very easy. Biggest problem I had was remembering how the choke and throttle linkage went back together. Looked simple but was a little bit of a pain. Take a picture of the linkages before disassembly and it will be easy.
