Tires Rims for Gleaner M2

I have a Gleaner M2 that is desperately needing some new tires. It has 23.1 x 26. I found a set of them on Massey rims. They came off a 510. Will those rims fit an M2?? What other options do I have as far as other sizes and rims from other makes that may fit. I wondered about going to a 24.5 x 30?? Thanks in advance.

I doubt the Massey rims will fit your combine. You probably would have to do some travelling/shopping/shipping, but there are so many of those combines junked around the country, that you could get any size you want, and know they'll fit.

Looked at tow M2s last week. Man wants $1500 each. Both have good rubber and diesel engines. I may part them. If you don,t find something let me know where you are.

My M3 has 20.8 x 30 tires---pretty well any rim from an M or L series should fit; just watch the backspacing, esp if you are using a 4 row 30 inch header. Ben

Well I am going to be modifying my cornhead. I am on 22" rows for corn so I am looking at either a 6,7 or 8 row. Just seems like 8 rows is a bit much for an M2. Until I get the tires on it, I won't know if a 6 x 22" row cornhead will be wide enough.

Here are the tire sizes available per the AC literature: 18.4-30 10 ply R1, or 23.1-30 8 ply R20. With other rims, check the offset, both normal and reversed. AC rims will clear the machine in either position. I reversed mine from PO position, and they straddle 30 inch rows.

I had a M2 with 23.1-30 with hubs and 18.4-30 duals that worked fine.Just had to take off duals to shell corn, that I don,t need any more.

Hmmmm. I better get back out and check the size again. I swore it had 23.1 x 26 on it. Maybe it is 23.1 x 30 and if so I wonder if a 24.5 x 30 will fit on it?? Will be going out to the shed when it gets warmer!!! 9 degrees at noon with 20-30 MPH wind gusts makes it too darn cold to be looking at tire sizes on a combine!!! LOL

You might want to move to tropical MN- minus 35 wind chill most of the day...You could consider narrower tires and straddle duals. I think my insides are 23, and the dual is 18.4-34 with a bell down band to match the 30. Heights are equal. I modded the step because of mobility issues. Also added a catwalk on the auger to get back to the engine.

Just doing measuring and math, you can figure what will fit behind the head. I used to run 28 inch singles on an F2 with 4-30 head...tires stuck out a bit beyond the head...worked ok if I planted straight.

8 rows would be its limit; you will need the lift rams from an l series to lift it plus more weight on the rear. A 6 row 22 inch head will allow about 176 inches row to row; that is you actually have an extra row space on either end of the header for the tire to run in. My 4 x 30 header actually allows almost 180 inches--120 inches for the header and then another 30 inches on either side to the next row----and with my tires (20.8)I have at least 12 inches of clearance to the next row.
