It is very cold today so I thought I would post a few warm weather pics.

We seem to want weather like is portrayed in the picture until we have it, then we want weather like we have now. Like a friend of mine used to say, "if wishes were dishes I'd have the whole set"...:) Mike

Nice looking Machines all! We had a 105 diesel that we ran for many years. Would the capacity of the 105 be close the the 1665 Case? Our 105 was horsepower limited in corn pushing a 643 cornhead.

My folk's next door neighbor worked at JD Harvester Works and single-handedly designed the transmission and drive train and drive axle on the 105 combine. He had 3-4 patents from his 30+ yes with JD. Guy was really creative! Probably was the only engineer at Harvester who lived on a farm too. Back in those days JD asked the question on the employment application if you ever lived on a farm or worked on a farm. That question disappeared about 1977!

You appear to be missing your air screen? Did you change to a rotary style or something else? I hope to put a 404 diesel in the 105 this summer and am thinking about a rotary screen from a gleaner.

The screen on this combine is actually the screen as used on the 30 series tractors for the model 237 picker. I assume original owner stored it in a shed that would not allow the height of the original screen. I wish it had a rotary screen. I have to clean the screen with every tank-full when cutting soybeans.

Choose my username while on youtube for another video showing the other side of the machine.

a few more of mine for you, I have no pics of my 660 setup for Corn, maybe someday I will get to run some with it, my low hour 1953 Thresher, and my 1000

How long is the unloading auger? Looks much longer than my 105. I need to lengthen mine for newer wagons.

Someone put a piece in before I bought the machine. This was my first summer using it. I have a quick tach feederhouse bought and a diesel 404 out of an early 7700 to put in it this summer. It has 2500 hours on it. Tom

My Dad used to say, usually about a neighbors new outfit,

If I had his _____ and he had a feather up his arse....we'd both be tickled!

Replacing front straw Walker crank its easy if you don't take the walkers out just lift em up slide the shaft in put bearings on your done just bought this machine didn't get to cut much but it was fun anyway

it was 90 miles one way, I have done it several times custom cutting with it, pulls very nice, rear trailer follows in the goosenecks tracks, when I bought the combine it was a 550 mile one way trip

That's good to know I had a hitch on the back of my gooseneck but I took it off. that is a good way to haul a small combine .

The 105 could have had a short, long or extra long auger. My 105 had the long auger but I lengthened it to the extra long length. Reaching over a bigger gravity wagon was a lot easier after I modified it. A weakness in a drive coupler in the drive end of the bin auger showed up because of the lengthening so I updated that drive to the late model drive.

I will be repowering my 105 hopefully this year. Would a 404T from a 4620 be ok to put in a 105? I had thought of using a 4020 motor I have, but I can see that the oil filter location is problematic.

The capacity of the raddle chain under the cylinder will be the limiter of capacity if you have more than factory power. Once in awhile I could stop the raddle chain in heavy trashy corn even with the high speed sprocket. Besides belts I don't know of anything else that will be hurt from more power. The separator drive belts will probably slip before anything connected to the beater shaft will be hurt. I dont know if the tail shaft housing will bolt up to the engine or not.
