In order to pick up windrows of peas to thrash this past fall, I borrowed a cut-down 8' head with a 7' Sund pickup attachment. I liked the narrowness of it. I have a 9' Sund that I need to mount for the coming season. I would like to have the variable reel speed setup that is on the F2 heads, so that I can change the pickup attachment speed as I change ground speed. If I ran across another 10' pickup head for the F2, I would have to add the variable reel setup.
So, what modifications would have to be made to put a 10' K2 head on an F2?
I assume 1) moving out upper hooks, 2) making opening wider and moving out the side pieces with lower hooks (and lining them up correctly), 3) moving the brace piece with the header drive shift bearing and shortening the shaft.
