Sorry to see the destruction...

wow!

I can't believe how well that combine survived. Just some broken wood on the reel? That combine looks like it has been well cared for. Will insurance cover the losses?

Sorry that had to happen ,, good save/// Tornado Palmyra Indiana1974 ,,,a farmer gave my brother and I apull type Cockshutt combine ,,had only one board on the reel , and a bent clean grain elevator that was a bear to straighten .. farmer said he was old and quittin , insurance paid off handsomely ,, and he liked the roofing job we died on his barn and house ,, his wife made good vegetable soup and pies too ,,..

No John, no insurance. on the barn. Insurance company wouldsn't cover it. Thet said it had too many "issues". It was 150 years old, post and beam, and it took a 120mph tornado to take it out. Flipped over my bale wagons too, as well as knocking down dozens of trees in my woodlot. On the upside... plenty of firewood for a few years. Wind took down some widow-makers that I didn't want to mess with. Saving what lumber I canfor run in shelters. Downed hemlock will go thru the sawmill to rebuild something. Life gives you lemons...you gotta make lemonade

Looks like you lucked out. We had a tornado in 2012, got a lot of my old machinery. Had to junk it.

Insurance sucks don't it. The company we had for a while wouldn't insure our strong standing, used barn. Yet the same outfit insured one that was not used and on the verge of collapse. Why did they insure that one and not ours? It was PAINTED, ours wasn't.
