Replacing heater cord on 9500

Had an earlier post about heater cord tripping out breaker.Looking closer it appears the insulation has been eaten by mice which has caused the problem. But replacing it seems somewhat difficult as is is plugged in between engine and grain hopper. How can this be accessed as it can not be reached from the open side of engine block?

Tom, I just had this happen to my 9500 as well. It's not as hard to get to as you might think. You can reach over the top of the engine (engine cooled off) and unscrew the nut on the heater. The dealership didn't have the long cord for the combine so I substituted one from a tractor to get me by. Believe it or not, the longer one for the combine is cheaper than the shorter one. Go figure. Mike

Am I on the wrong combine or isn't there an access door on the rear side of the bin?
Its the one you use when you change out the AC compressor

There should be a cover in the grain tank you can remove to get at the starter. This gives easy access to the heater as well.

Mike's method certainly works, too.
