I was able to do a bit of horse trading to get this sweet little machine from a good friend in MI this year, I have used it to cut over 1000lbs of alfalfa seed this fall, I have less than 6 hrs run time, I am very happy to report this machine has already paid for its self and about a grand to the plus side with this harvest! That does not happen very often here anyway

That is a nice combine. I am wanting to see that cross auger shine on it like some you have on your other machines. Thanks for the photos

Real good when you can get one to pay for itself that quick. I would like to see someone try that with a newer one!

That is amazing! Does it have the 4 cylinder engine or the Chrysler 6?

I wish I could own one like that.

John the "600" had either the CASE 188 gas or 188dsl, mine has the gas version, its a great little machine, I have wanted one as they have a straw rack instead of straw walkers like the 700/900/960 does, the rack seems to work better for Alfalfa seed harvesting in that it does not plug like the walkers can in certain conditions like you have with Alfalfa that is very short and extremely dry, after running my 20' 1660 the 10' 600 seems like a toy! lol I have over 1000lbs of seed in barrels from this year, @ $3.00lb that makes my investment in this machine about a grand in the black, everything works on the machine even the tail light can still be turned to red for night road travel,,,

Thanks for the reply! The first self propelled my dad ever owned was a Case 600. I watched it rust to pieces the first 15 years of my life. It threw a rod through the block, when I was 3 or 4 years old. I remember it was a 4 cyl gas. I wish it hadn't sat outside all those years. I remember when it was still shiny. I also remember the day it got carted off to the scrap yard in 3 loads. I think we talked about putting a Chrysler engine in it, as he said that it was available in the case combines. I can't remember exactly how. By the time we could fix it, the rust had ruined the rest of the machine. We went back to a pull type combine for many years. Someday I will find one with all it's paint and take care of it like my dad wished he could with his.
