Gleaner F2 hard time moving

Our F2 has a really hard time moving? What could be wrong? Transmission got really hot. Traction drive belt need to be replaced?
Thanks Joe

if your combine is not a hydro you will have a control for raising and lowering the header height. if you move that control rod up and down it controls the header and forward or back adjusts a variable belt to speed up or down. if you set it too loose/slow it will slip under load. you need to move the lever forward and it should grab the belt more.

It is somewhat common for the bearings to go out on that shaft feeding into the transmission, that would let the belt slip and or the clutch itself.

After many many years of service, the vee belt pulley down there can wear out, so that the pulley runs crooked and slips.

As that bottom belt wears it becomes loose when you move to slow position, don't leave it there...

Most problems center on the bottom vee belt or the bottom shaft going into the tranny. The pulley and shaft and fatter vee belt behind the wheel.

What is troubling is your tranny gets hot? That can be a deeper problem I'm not familiar with. Open the little access panel under the clutch and see what you see in there?

so have you tried pushing forward on your header height control rod. If so that should adjust the driven pulley and tighten the belt so it grabs and moves the combine faster.
