It figures that trying to finish the beans at home trying to beat the rain that was coming that with 4 acres to go the combine quits! Not 10 feet from the end of the field it dies, Then restarts and dies again. Got it running long enough to unload the bin load into a wagon. When it died and would not restart. Take 3 wagons to the barn and get them inside and it starts to rain. Figures! Rained about 1/2 hour just enough to stop cutting for the day. After the rain stopped I found the problem, Fuel filter is plugged. Nothing in the sediment bowl but lots of rust came out of the filter when I blew backwards threw it. I don't use those small ones I use the big ones like the one off my old Ford truck. This is the first problem the old girl has given me this fall. It just goes to show you that when the finish line is in sight, Wham! It Figures! Bandit

Had almost the same thing happen on My K. Just finished cutting beans for a neighbor and got ready to pull out on to a highway and the old girl started loosing power. Threw the choke on a little and she got me home. Dirty filter the culprit. I prefer this kind of problem over major break down.

Well to tell you the truth I did put a new gas filter on a month ago before I started cutting beans. I always change the oil and filter and fuel filter blow the air cleaner out and check it, Grease every fitting and oil all the chains with old diesel motor oil and go over the whole machine. But like everyone else you miss something, But all and all to only have a fuel filter go bad during cutting season I cant complain! $10 fix. Bandit
