4400 DIESEL

If I remember correctly that pump has a electric shut off. Make sure you have power to the shut off coil on the top of the injection pump. You should hear it click when you turn the key on.

it seems to be working, or at least its clicking when you turn switch on,the book shows a o-ring that u have to watch when putting pump on, if its bad will that cause it not to pump fuel? if pump is out of time will that cause it not to pump fuel to injectors?

Doug: Have you had the injection pump off???? I just read your where having trouble getting it to start.

The injection pump is just a regular old Rossa-Master injection pump. The "oring" is actually a cup ring on the shaft that drive the head.

Yes the pump could be out of time if it was removed. That would need to be checked out. To long of process to go into on here.

the boy that had combine before me switched pumps because it wouldnt start,he gave me 2 extra pumps with combine, think I will have Columbus Diesel go threw one and re-time etc. hope that will work, thanks for all your help and ideas Doug

Does the electric pump under the fuel tank run when you have the key in the run position??? They have the electric pump to push fuel up to the mechanical fuel pump and then through the filters to the injection pump. IF the electric or the mechanical pump is not working then it will not start right.
