Gleaner F straw walkers

As I recall, the only reason for sliding the walkers rearward, was to avoid the cob shield you were supposed to install for corn.

Dad made all those changes religiously on the new E he bought. I eventually bought an older one at auction, and didn't get any extra pieces. I took the opposite approach, and tried to minimize changes between crops.

Something I seldom see addressed are local conditions. Here in the wet northeast I don't think our straw ever gets as dry as it might in other areas of the country.
