With all this rain...

Thank goodness for a mud hog. I've tried for ten years to do
the best I could on fighting compaction. I'm afraid I'm giving
some back this fall. Hoping for a really hard freeze. Some of
you guys too?

Have yet to turn a wheel, need at least 5 drying days before we will think about starting. Calling for showers tonight.

Yeah, more time with the RWA engaged than not. So much for the fields that were going no till into wheat. They now have ruts two feet deep.

We are pretty much rained out here. I checked my oats still in the field 2 days ago. Anything touching the ground looks like pus when you squeeze a kernel, and the rest will just blow out the back because there is no bushel weight left. Soybeans are rotting in the pod, and corn cobs are rotting on the stalk, and it's too wet to plow anything. About 1/3 of the crops are off in the Temiskaming district, the rest are likely junk, except the canola might be OK if it freezes before it snows.
