Its already been mentioned in the original thread on another page but I thought I would bring this up to the front....Probably the best 611 Ford combine in existence sold for $9300 on ebay..

It sold for lots more than what I thought it would..Anyone know where it went to?
Ford 611

I talked to him and he said its heading to Minnesota to a Ford collector. He was gonna give the guy my email so hopefully I can talk with him and see what other Ford stuff he has. Would have loved to have this machine but it was out of my price range. Hopefully someday I'll find one a little closer to home.

Thanks...You'd better go check out that 611 Ford at Scottsville.KS...It was still there in April 2013...I might even consider selling mine as I need some shed room for tractors..

1206swmo I just happen to catch the last two min. of bidding. With about 5 sec. left bid went from 6000 to 9300 buyer was not very smart, could have bid 6500 and had the winning bid because there would have been no time left for anyone else to get a bid in.

If nothing else going to Scottsville would be a good roadtrip.

Send me an email about your combine. I would be willing to try to open up some shed room for you.

A 611 would go right in our lineup. Got a 2 row picker on a 961, working on a two row sheller on a 981, have to go look at a 1 row picker, have a couple but they are rough and this ones in a shed. Just need a 611 and a 1 row sheller

If the bid went from 6000 to 9300 it was because the bidder at 6000 had reserve in for something like 9200. The winning bidder put in a bid over that (like 10000 for example) and the system used just enough of that (9300) to outbid the #2 bidder by one bid increment. If the winner had only put in 6500 in the last 5 seconds the system would have the existing high bidder (at 6000) bump him to 6600 to win the auction instead. Mike

You misremember. I just looked at the bidding history on it and it's nothing like you described. That, and as previously mentioned, fleabay has a proxy bidding system in place. Many of these bids are proxy bids put in on the bidder's behalf. That said, the bid of 9200 was in play by proxy bid on the 6th. The winning bidder HAD to put in a bid of at least 9300. Who knows? He may have a placed a bid of $15,000 or $20,000, but $9300 won it on the 12th.
