Why does this happen?

On the corn head two of the rows build up stalks on top of snapping rolls. Kind of looks like a daffodil. Everything measures the same as the other four. Knife rolls are set the same. Stripper plates are same width. So why does it always happen to the same two rows? Going to be a long fall if I have to stop every 200 ft. for them two rows.

Brand of CH? Had a Gleaner head that used to drive me nuts- hairpinning at top end.....small plate at top of one row unit would catch a bit of trash under the edge and the buildup would begin, unless I kept ground speed down by (not to) half a mph.

How is the corn looking that is being fed thru all 4 rows? Are two of the rows thinner/shorter/spaced differently than the other 2? Sometimes poor corn will not feed, and builds up. At least it does for me.

Could be a an odd set of circumstances going on. Are the roll drives slipping on those 2? Bearings shot? Did you stick a bar between the rolls and see if there is some lateral movement under a load?

Just some thoughts; best of luck!

The fluff from all other rows ends up in the middle two
Try running an eight row It gets really bad

Some varieties are worse than others
I bet it worked fine early of the morning
