KL238 head part

Could anyone on here with a Allis KL238 corn head have a minute to get me some dimensions and post of a photo of the wooden chain guide that the top part of the snapping rollers chain rides on, its agco part number 70562291. Mine is gone and I'm sure I can make one if I had a photo and the length and width of it and where the bolt holes are at.

IIRC there are only two sizes of the wood blocks that Gleaner used. Check what"s on the combine and see which fits correctly. Offhand, I"d guess it"s the smaller one, like on the roller chain, left side of thresher front, on the chain driven by the threshing cyl.

there's not one the combine, it was gone when I bought it, that's why I needed something to go by.

I found a small one in the shop today....if no one else posts tonite, I"ll at least post dimensions.

Dimensions for small block:

Draw a horizontal line, ABCD.
AD is 4 1/2 inches long.
AB is 2 1/4 inches.
BC is 5/8 inch.
Vertical line from B to E is 1 1/4 inches. This is the apogee of the curve AED.
Vertical line CF is 1/2 inch.
Hole at F is 3/8 inch.
Block is 1 3/4 inches thick.

I think that the wood guide you may be looking for is a flat one, not the curved that JMS/.MN is describing. I believe that they are about 8"x2"x1/2"or 3/4". I will look in the morning and see what size they are for sure if you need me to.

I agree- I was thinking of the roller drive chain tightener.....not the flat gathering chain guide.

nh8260,
Block is 7/8" thick by 1 1/2" wide by 6 1/2 long.
2 holes are 1/4" + in dia. 3/4" in from ends.
I believe 2 carriage bolts 1/4" by ? (2 or 2 1/2)with flat washers held it on.
Ends are torpedo shaped. It is reversible. Made from Hardwood.
