Hidden grease jerk/plug on a John Deere 6620

Recently I was searching on-line for some fluid capacities for a John Deere 6620 combine. The goggle search brought up some comments about a hidden plug which needs to be taken out and a grease jerk installed and the cavity pumped full of grease. The poster said it was not covered in the owners manual. Does anyone know what cavity this is and where the plug is located???????? Thanks.

That might mean the cylinder drive. There's supposed to be a grease fitting there, but there's also supposed to be a breather to let extra grease out. Maybe that's what they're talking about. Look in the manual about greasing torque-sensing unit for cylinder drive.

They more than likely are talking abut the loading auger gear box. It is up on the side by the top of the clean grain elevator.

If your JD 6620 has the two speed cylinder drive then it has gear oil not grease in it. I have seen guys take the drain fitting out and fill it full of gun grease. In a few years the needle bearings are usually shot and they get to overhaul the two speed gear case.

Thanks guys. I don't have a two speed gear box for the cylinder drive on my JD 6620 so I guess I am OK.
