Gleaner F main clutch shaft

Looking at changing the main clutch shaft ( the one that has veritable speed and on the right side drives the thresher). I have one that doesn't show much wear. What are the problem areas and some dos and don'ts on changing this out. I am already going to change the belts on the right side and I need a new main drive belt for the left. How much work is this to remove? Any help would be appricated.

Pretty straightforward to switch. Replace the bearings as well. Critical thing is alignment- must be perfectly square with the machine. Neighbor got to change his twice...Poorly aligned, shaft went out shortly. Didn"t help that he torched out the adjustment holes to get more "adjustment" to tighten the worn belt.....

Find a common point to measure from to align shaft- maybe another nearby countershaft.
