Gleaner F cylinder bars

I have a complete cylinder that has Timpe bars and was wondering the best way of going about changing them in a gleaner F. Is it a pain to drop out the old cylinder and install this one or is better to just replace the bars one at a time on the old cylinder. Any advice would be appreciated.

Since you have the complete cyl, I"d swap cyl. Take the top cover off of the thresher housing, remove the belt on the right side, and the chain on the left, then support the cyl with a hoist and unbolt the gudgeons on each side. Cyl should lift up and out.
