1460 combine master replacement

How hard is it to get the master out of the 1460? Mine kicked out of gear going down a hill and I ditched it. After the corn head detached it came to a stop on its side against a hedge tree so I had minor damage to the machine. I am in the process now of replacing the master. I can see it from the cab and all the bolts from the bottom but they don't make it easy to reach. I had little brake a few years ago but they never pumped up good so I am hoping to pull it and find another master for not too much.

It might not be the master cyl, check your brake cyl. They always are the problem on ours, the fluid leaks out of the bottom end.

Yes, take a leaky slave cylinder to a good hydraulic brake supply shop. They should have metal brake expander cups that push that bottom rubber cup lips tightly to the cylinder walls. This prevents the leak so common to IH 14-16 series combines. We installed them in our 1480's, and had good brakes without the usual fluid loss at the slave cylinders.
