JD 4400 feederhouse chain question..

I am considering replacing the feederhouse chain in my 1978 JD 4400 combine, regular feederhouse. The JD 4400 part # is AH123532 for $737.00 from Deere. Would a feederhouse chain for a 4420 combine fit? In looking at the JD 4420 parts it shows a part # AH116711 that subs to the AH 123532 number for $595.75 from Deere. Is there any reason why it would not fit on a 4400? Any assistance is always appreciated.

This is a followup to my previous post. I wanted to mentioned I have the narrow spaced slats on my feederhouse chain which I intend to replace with.

I replaced mine in my 4400 a couple of years back.It was wide spaced slat from A&I and I had to shorten it by a few links to fit.Cost less than Deere but had to do a little work.I think A&I carries one length chain for extra long feederhouse.

Steve is the chain in yours like this one? If so I sent you an Email with details. Bandit

There used to be an option for a close-spaced feederhouse chain or a wide-spaced one. If you have a choice get the wide-spaced. It will be easier on your sprockets and will feed better than the close-spaced one. It will be much cheaper as well. Also, you need to determine if you have the regular length feederhouse or the long one. Mike

Don't spend too much on a rusty one as I did that for a 105 feeder and the links started to come apart and bought new. Don't need to run a rusty one thru the cylinder.
