NH900 auger

has anyone put new flighting on the cross auger on a new holland 900 chopper? what source did you use for the flighting? thanks.

I"ve built numerous augers from scratch, as well as re-flited some. I used to buy tube, fliting, and center pipe from a nearby mfgr of bulk feed tanks, but they quit retail sales. They had 40 foot lengths of everything, in stock. Since then I"ve gone to a local welding shop who gets fliting in 5 foot sections.

You need to know the diameter of the auger, fliting thickness, fliting pitch, and whether right or left hand fliting. Pitch is the distance between corresponding spots on the edge of the fliting. Right/left? Picture the auger vertical in front of you......does the fliting go up to the right or left of you?

I did it on a gehl... I think the stuff came from express flighting. It was actually a ribbon about 2-3 in wide you weld to the old flighting.

It works very well.

The back of the likes of Farm Journal etc may also yield results.

good luck!
