Can"t seem to be able to remove the primary separator fan variable drive shieve assembly. Tried a bit of heat but didn"t want to overheat the brg. behind it. The original belt will not go over pulleys just too short. Any one have a trick up your sleeve? Appreciate the help thanks.

If there"s no tightener pulley between driver and driven, can you move both pulleys to their widest width and slip the belt in? If driveable, run the cyl til the driven is wide, block it, then release hyd pressure on driver and move those sheaves apart.

Take other pulley off?

Run the belt in as deep as possible into the spring loaded pulley, then enough belt to get over the variable one?

When I was young, dad and I beat on, pulled, heated dull red a sprocket on the gleaner - would no come off. Took it to a welding shop, he looked it over, said is it threaded? Darn thing threads off left handed threads. We were a little red faced, about same shade as we heated the sprocket..... Don't think this helps you, but a good story on trying to get stuff apart....

if yours has the 2 variable pulleys attached to a control arm and bearings with a spring tensioned idler between the fan pulley and the driver pulley turn the adjustment crank to full speed or lowest speed setting, the stop nuts may have to be backed off to allow full travel of the pulleys, this will allow one pulley to be all the way open and the other closed, remove spring from tensioner pulley, put the belt on the open pulley first, then roll it on to the closed pulley buy holding it in the pulley will turning it make sure you have the right belt or it won't go on or will be too long,it should be relatively loose once on the pulleys, but the tension pulley should tighten it without bottoming out.
