Problem Solved

I have been thinking a lot about the 5297 lately. Not sure how long the motor has been stuck on the 5297 or how bad it is.

One of the comments I heard about this combine was - they were a little under powered.

And as always I am looking for a cheaper alternative.

I am getting things out of the shed today for the K&O Steam & Gas Engine show. I happened to walk past a motor I bought years ago as a spare for the Charger.

440 Mag with a high rise manifold. It is ready to put back together and would solve that "lack of power" problem.

I doubt it will work, those combine engines cranks were different in that the crank is different to run the unloading auger.we tried to put a different engine on as well and that is the problem we ran into.It was a ford engine too though.

Looks like you'll have good weather for your show. Small chance of rain Friday night but the weekend looks good and not too terribly hot. We were blessed with very nice weather at the Goessel show the other weekend and the attendance shows it. I have enjoyed your show several times but won't make it this year as there is too much work to do around here this year.

Will you keep the Road Runner/Super Bee camshaft in it, or will you put a combine/motor home camshaft in it? It might have a bit more threshing capacity with an engine turning above 5000 RPM.

Have fun!
