Thoughts Comments.

I have been thinking about a few things lately. As for 1923 Gleaner’s comment about the “stuff” I have around here. I am kinda proud of it. From time to time people stop in and tell me they drive by every so often to see what I have added. I know how it is; I do the same thing myself. One of the few things I miss about my former job is not getting to pick up tractors at Ed’s farm. I like to see what he has drug in. At least we have one thing in common; we have things that someone actually wants. I have been to many places that have nothing but pure trash. Seriously, who wants 300 old refrigerators or cook stoves?
As for having the 5297 at the 2015 K&O show, I can only dream. The Charger is finally in the shop for upgrades. Anyone that thinks the 5297 is more important than the Charger – feel free to take it up with my youngest daughter. Good luck on that.
Erik Ks Farmer. I still owe you and I can use all the help I can get with this project. I am going to remove the header from the first one and bring it home. I am going to measure the back axle and make a stiff hitch to pull it with. This way it won’t run over me while going downhill. I am going to take a long set of hydraulic hoses with me and plumb them into the steering cylinder and steer it with the tractor hydraulics. When I get the first one home I will be able to improve things for the second one.
The serial number on this machine is MV 25219. Not sure what the number on the second one is. I have been saving money in anticipation of buying this combine. A new concrete slab will be poured in front of the work shop and hopefully a roof put up in the near future so I can work on it in the spring and fall.
This combine might not mean much to anyone else, but I like to think of myself as a Moline man that has saved a few things.

My thinking when I loooked at the equipment was that it was all someone's great idea when it was manufactured. Time proves whether it was a great idea - or not.

Looks great. Hopefully if Im out in your neck of the woods sometime I can stop by for a tour!

Roger, you be sure and get in touch with me when you're ready to get one of them. I'm not far, was by there this morning on my way to Shucks to get parts. Thought about you then.

Your place looks like one I would just like to walk around. You have some really cool stuff in those pictures. I have always enjoyed looking at old iron.

Just so you know. You can stop in any time and look things over. This is about 1/3 of the implements I have. The 777 belongs to Cameron, it goes behind his R John Deere. Lots of things to do before I can get the 5297.
