does anyone have an idea were one can purchase a carburator over haul/rebuild kit for a john deere 217 gas engine? thanks-happy

I take it it's no longer available from Deere?The 217 was used in 55 and 95 combines,possibly other stuff.each application used a different carb.You might try a NAPA store in 'farm' country.You would be surprised on how MUCH NAPA can get.Find the old guy who's been there forever

look on the carb for manufacture (Think Marvel Schedule) and probably have a number on it, of which I think a parts supply source has a rebuild kit.
Old JD 45 FTS145 power unit I could look at.
