Deere 10 ft quik-tach platform

I had a verbal agreement as of early this week to buy a 10 ft quick attach platform for my 45 combine. The owner calls me today to say that the platform was mistakenly hauled off for scrap along with his two 3300 parts combines. He was more disgusted than me.

The question... How unusual are the 10 ft quik tach platforms? This one was going to work great with my 45 since it had mechanical reel drive. What part of the world would a guy look for a small platform with mechanical reel drive?

A 10' quick-tach head is going to be hard to find. Your going to have to find an area with a lot of small farms that are still going and find the closest combine junk yard to them and check it out for one. Check Craigslist around you and other areas for one.

Now as far the mechanical drive for the reel, They can be changed from hydrolic to mechanical. I have changed 3 quick tach heads over for my old JD 95s over the years. I will post some pictures later today and the how to change one over. Bandit

They are hard to find as they were only sold on 3300 combines.Many 3300's that were bought for soybeans had a 13 ft. platform.I sold a good one 10 years ago for $1000.If you find a hyd. drive head buy it anyway and change it over.Good luck in your search. My first two combines were 45's and we now have a 105,2-95's and a 55.Tom

I found mine in Pennsylvania. A fair number of 3300s were sold there with them back in the day. Boak Family Farms in New Castle might have one (724) 924-2396, so might Keiters in Halifax (717) 362-9574.

I would like to find one as well for my 45. If I can't, I have a dream of cutting down a 200 series head to make a "210". Mike

10ft headers aren't hard to find out west were I'm at. They were used as pickup platforms. Find one of those, take the pickup attachment off, find another header and take all the parts offs and throw it on the other header. You will have to cut down the reel but that shouldn't be hard. I converted a 12ft pickup header off a 1969 JD 55 to a straight cut header doing that.

I couldn't find the listing but I did find a guy that says he has parts. I'll give him a call tomorrow to see what he has for me.
