You're gonna be thinking "what hope is there for this guy, he can't even change a light bulb!"

Took off the cover to replace the bulb in one of these yellow flasher lights. It LOOKS just like the sort of fixture that you can replace the bulb but the bulb was all but welded into the socket, broke off and had to be pried out. There are not threads in the socket or slots for pins. CIH parts lists the entire lamp as a unit. Manual is silent of course. Is this the case? If it burns out do you replace the entire unit...cover, base, bulb? Why put screws on the cover? Anyone with a 1600 series out there know? Honestly, it looks like you just take out the bulb but there is a lot of evidence against it.

I replaced two of them last year. Thought they has the pins on the bulb (1156) but really can't remember 100%

Me too, but the top came off the bulb the second I touched it and there are not slots in the socket after cleaning out the old bulb. I'll have to either call my dealer in the AM or try taking apart another one. Trouble is, the rest all work and I hate like he!! to mess with something that works.
