Gleaner K Variable Speed Drive

My old K is showing its age. Lots of trouble this year. But it ran essentially trouble free for the last 15 years I have owned it. The outer bearing on the variable speed went bad. I replaced it with new AGCO bearing(made in Korea). Immediately upon installing new bearing, the outer yoke started to rattle and vibrate. I was in hurry to finish and I ran it as is. Almost done and the 5/8"(11/16"?) bolt on the yoke end broke.I replaced it with a piece of all thread to finish. The shaft seems to be running true visually(I am going to check the run out with a mike. There were no issues with the original bearing- everything ran smooth with no vibration or rattle. The main bearings at the combine housing are running cool and I cannot detect any shaft movement when doing a check prying with a big bar. I am going to do a teardown, get a bolt from a salvage yard, replace the Korean bearing, and reinstall everything. Does anyone have any experience with the new AGCO bearings? Are they any good? Or should I get it cross referenced to Fafnir or another brand? I find it hard to believe that the outer bearing going bad would have caused the end of the shaft to travel out of round. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

I DOUBT the Korean bearing is bad. China, and I would worry.

NOT exactly sure how that drive is made, but is it possible you put it together with the halves of the sheave 1/2 or 1/3 of a turn off from their original orientation, when the unit was balanced at the factory?

Or, is there a hollow area inside holding grease and dirt, where a chunk of debris fell off of one side while you were working on it, and not the other, creating an unbalanced condition?
