I have an OMC Model S swather that has an VH4D on it. The engine was stuck and now it rebuilt. I used a donor motor off a ditch witch for parts. The original motor had a generator with a distributor on it. It took up a ton of room and would not allow the oil filter so I took the distributor off the DW motor. Now when cranking, it has no spark. What did the generator have on it that the other did not that I need to add in? I really want the oil filter and now to switch the engine back requires pulling shields (a job on wisconsins) and the flywheel and getting rid of my beautiful oil filter.
