CANT GET WHEAT TO FEED UP THE FEEDER HOUSE ON COMBINE, ANY IDEAS, WE ADJUSTED THE FEEDER HOUSE CHAIN BUT MADE NO DIFFERENCE THANKS FOR YOUR IDEAS

Check the augur swipe blades behind the augur before the feeder house. They should be close(not sure the amount) but with in a 1/2" at least. Out 6620 would not feed one year on milo and adjusted and fine. Best of luck.

thanks for all your ideas, this head needed almost everyone of your ideas, lol, trying to help my cousins boy, he just started 2 years ago, been yrs since I have farmed with semi modern equipment

You may want to look at the fingers on the auger.
Let's say you have a head that was originally mounted on an 8820 which has a wider throat. If the fingers are full width, the straw may wrap around the auger. When I say full width, I mean every possible finger is installed.

I use a 218 on my 6620 which has 2 rows of 6 fingers. My junk 20 ft head has two rows of eight. The 20 foot head was on an 8820.

I cannot remember if the timing of the finger retraction can be adjusted. If it can, if too early, it could bunch under the auger, if too late, it could carry the straw around. Maybe someone else can chime in....
