Got combine out to run wheat it will run for a while then die. When it dies fuel pump and lights in cab quit working will not turn over. Leave it for few minutes every thing starts working for couple minutes does same thing. Any ideas.

I've had batteries that start fine when cold but once they are hot they won't start the car - bad cell. Take both batteries off and have them load tested. Something is causing you to lose the power connection. You mention lights - is the a/c blower out so there is NO juice at all?

When you take your batteries out to load test them check your cables and ends.

Sounds like you have an automatic circuit breaker opening and then resetting after it cools. Check for mice chewing on wires?

I'd go with relays, then. We've got a crack combine man here at Heritage JD. Randy can make them hum like a sewing machine. I hope I don't have to see him anymore this year. He ain't cheap!

You're gonna' think I'm crazy but look in the cigar lighter, when I got my 9400 it would shut down completely in the field, wait awhile and restart it. come to find out there were a couple of round pieces of metal in there and they'd roll and short the combine out. Fought them for a couple of days until we found them and took them out and haven't had any trouble for 10 years.
