Gleaner L hyd valve

The master valve on the secondary valve unit has went to leaking very bad. The auger swing, reel height and I think reel speed were giving me issues with burning fuses I noticed this problem at the same time. I run all new wires and seem to have the fuse problem fixed but none of these functions work at all. I have a service manual.

Tomorrow I am going to order all new O rings. I had it apart and replaced the O ring that goes up into the valve body and it leaks as bad or worse.

The O ring seems too big around so I finally just pushed it in as best as I could and put the assembly together. What did I do wrong on the O ring assembly? I did remove the old one.

you probably damaged the o-ring you replaced being it wasn't the right size ,sometimes that will work depending on application best to get the correct one btdt

Yes I bought it from the dealer I need to check the number again but we both looked at it in the parts book. I looked at the parts book again tonight and wrote down the number for every O ring in that assembly. That one sure seems too big. I will look at the old one and compare them tomorrow. I had to use a pick to get the old one out.

I finally got a new O ring in I found out that it does have a groove. I also dug out a couple pieces of an old O ring so at some point two O rings were in here. It still leaks bad and no hyd function at all. I replaced all the I rings with new ones in this assembly except that little blue sleeve that goes over that one O ring.

Tried different coils and they are energizing when they are supposed to. Auger will not swing back in and reel will not lift I am sure the reel speed will not work either. I will look today with a flashlight I am wondering if parts of an old broken O ring are inside somewhere. Also I cannot get that leak fixed. Running out of ideas.

Make some jumper wires and reconnect to functions you know work, , like try the auger swing on header lift, see if they function, and try both switches, could be possible to have shorted the switches also.

I will remember that. I got it to working again. I found out that there is a groove for that O ring. I also removed a couple pieces from another O ring in there so there were to I rings inside the body for some reason.

I installed the new one and still no change. Then I pulled it apart again and discovered the poppet was not moving freely. I had put the wrong O ring on it and managed found that it takes the real small ones in that kit. They are difficult to get onto the poppet.

Now it all works and the leak is fixed.
