Is anybody else cutting wheat yet?

I got both of the old Fords ready to roll for another year and we started cutting two days ago.Cutting conditions are terrible with more boggy ground than dry ground.Yields are way off from last year and I have heard of several that are getting docked pretty hard for low test weight. The rains havent really stopped since November and seem to be coming everyday now.LOTS of cotton and peanuts still to be planted and some are replanting cotton that drounded out. We ran for two hours the first day and wound up stuck.Spent the rest of the afternoon tiptoeing around the bottoms just to cut what we could.I know a lot of you need rain but sunny days and low humidity would be good here.

I hate hard going at harvest time... fyi, i only planted my spring wheat 2 days ago... amazing the difference from one end of the continent to the other... hopoe the combines run ok for you.

this is a shot of my small grains, as you say we need rain but sounds like you have more than enough for a while!! glad to hear "harvest" is on for you looking forward to your pics and stories

CNT,

I always love your pictures of your equipment and land.

Hopefully some day I can pass through your area.

Last night was our first 1"+ rain since Thanksgiving. Ofcourse it's months too late for the Wheat crop. Should start cutting the short thin crop next week. Since I have no spring crops I now hope it doesn't rain anymore until August. :x

Central Ga.Stuck 5 times yesterday. The "fun" factor for this wheat season is quickly going bye bye.
