I want options on what vintage cotton picker is useable and fits in a IH collection from 1940 to 1960.

I have asked some questions about cotton on hear and there doesn't seem to be many cotton famers that come here I know I am not one. There was a pretty old ih cotton picker on tractor house a while ago if that helps

Mike Franzen in Monmouth Ia had one a little bit ago Franzen is local source for lots of used parts

I think a 414 is the first IH 2 row self propelled but am not sure. They were built in the early 60's. Before that they were 1 row tractor mounted. I have 2 IH 416's that I used in the late 80's, 1 Diesel with a cab and one gas open station. The 416's were low drum pickers and 422's were high drum. When the heads needed rebuilding on these I could buy a newer used picker in good shape for what it would have cost to rebuild them, so I parked them. They are still taking up space in my shelter. Parts are available to rebuild the heads but are getting scarce for the rest of the machine.
Salvage yards sold most of their older machines for scrap when the price went up because no one is still running these older machines.
