Yesterday at 5:30 am I and two friends headed 200 miles west to Udall,KS for a big estate sale..On it were old combines,tractors,cars,trucks,etc..I didnt bring the trailer because every time I do, I go home empty..Nothing on this farm had been used in 20 years or more..

Blaine: The Twin City that you bought is the one, I believe, that I sold to Shaffer years ago that I got at Samolin, Kansas from Speed Elliotts family. I bought a 27-44 and the 21-32 and tons of parts from them. Neil Shaffer bought the 21-32 from me a few months later. It was a nice running tractor but that was over 30 years ago.

What brand is the yellowish combine in the sixth photo? The color makes me think it is a Moline of some type but I have never seen one like that.

Those old Cockshutt combines were made of heavier material than most other combines of that era, so there was more metal there for scrap. They were rugged machines, but slow on the road and dirty to operate in the field.

We had 2 of those machines; they kept on going until we were able to by newer combines.

(quoted from post at 07:00:49 04/27/14) I'm pretty sure that is the COOP combine that sold. I think it was made by Cockshutt.

You're right, Roger, it's an early Cockshutt-made Co-op, likely an SP112 although it could be an SP110 or SP115 which were variations made at the same time.

nice pces of combine history that don't get a caring home is a heartbreaker ,,, they fed this country thru some tuf times andtheworld for that matter ... B laine,,,? // do you recall what the ol dodge or Plymouth next to the charger brought my brothers and I would love to find a 57 -58 Desoto fireflite ,, so Guys keep a eye open for one and let me know that was our familys flagship for some ten yrs in the 60s .....

Ed,I appreciate the information..The 21-32 TC made it to my
place a little after 6 pm this evening.... We fought the wind all
day..

While we were loading it I watched them destroy that nice 151
IH combine.....It made me sick....Next is the 428 Cockshutt...

There was a 1968 Plymouth Fury,a 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury, and a 1960 Dodge Pioneer on the sale..I think they brought around $400-600 each..A 1957-58 DeSoto will be tough to find..
