Yesterday at 5:30 am I and two friends headed 200 miles west to Udall,KS for a big estate sale..On it were old combines,tractors,cars,trucks,etc..I didnt bring the trailer because every time I do, I go home empty..Nothing on this farm had been used in 20 years or more..
It was a nice warm, sunny, and windy day..This area desperately needs a rain..
The news isnt good on the combines..
-Nice 428 Cockshutt sold for scrap for $500..It made me sick but I already have one..
-New never used header for 428 Cockshutt sold for scrap for $150..
-Nice 542 Oliver sold for scrap for $800...Engine had just been overhauled..
-Nice 151 McCormick sold for scrap for $800...
-428 Cockshutt that sat outside sold for scrap for $350..
-Coop combine that sat out sold for scrap for $375...
-I came to buy the Cockshutt 50 diesel but didnt get it...I was runner-up...It sold for $2800 and went to a collector 25 miles away..The auctioneer said he got tons of phone calls and emails on this and only two of us even bid on it..The engine was stuck..
-1130 Massey Ferguson Western (no 3 pt) with blade sold for $3300...It had 4 new rear tires..
-766 IH sold for $3000..
-7060 AC with no 3 pt sold for $2800...Each axle had 5 inner weights that were 250-300 lbs each..
-I was able to buy this late 1920's 20-35 Allis for $900...
-I was able to buy this 1930 FT Twin City for $1200..I now have two trips to make to Udall...
-I was able to buy some WC Allis and 20-35 Allis steel wheels from this pile..
-The 1966 Dodge Charger sold for $2400..
-This decent IH pick-up sold for $700..
-This M Allis crawler sold for $800 and went to a collector..
