Like a lot of guys around here, I still have corn standing. Saw a couple combines running 40 miles south and west of here last week; looked like it was going pretty good for them. Snow finally melted enough here that I figured I could get under the ears without picking up snow. So I tried it Wednesday... drove across the end rows where I had packed the snow down in December, but as soon as I started in on the standing corn, I found mud. Couldn't even back out - not enough traction to climb back onto the frozen ground. Guess I'll be waiting until the snow is gone and the ground dries out. And it's snowing right now.

It doesnt look like its going to work for awhile...Looks like its standing decent...Yesterday we were 82 degrees...We have only had 2.15" of moisture for the entire year which is starting to concern people...Quite a bit of corn has already been planted..

BTDT, better days ahead. Is that a 1500. Ran one like that in another lifetime, have a memory of it looking exactly like that once. It would go through a lot of mud but liked to go through gas more!

I've considered getting duals for it, even though the operator's manual says they are 'not recommended'. Haven't run across a set yet. Would have to drill the centers for the eye bolts - they're solid, no holes other than the pilot and lugs.

This is exactly why I took all of mine out in early January. Hopefully things improve so you can get it out before you need to focus on planting.

Where are you located?

Our ground was saturated last fall. It froze, but not very deep, even with the record cold we had, due to all the snow. Now most of the frost is gone, except where the snow was plowed or packed down. We're normally starting tillage and small grain planting by early to mid April... not gonna happen this year.

I'm in n/w WI, just outside Ladysmith.
I combined some in Dec. and Jan. - filled my wagons for grinding. Nobody around here had any propane to dry it - at any price.

I"ve drilled out centers on the F2 and M2 to add duals....4 holes each center. Tire dealer cautioned me on extra stress on finals from running duals. I said there"s plenty extra stress getting stuck with singles. Haven"t had any breakage the times I used them.

Gotta count my blessings, at least I got the crop in last fall and it was dry.

Never fun to be trying to catch up one crop when the other should be getting the attention.

Doesn't help the cash flow any either.

Putting duals on will probably just get you further into the field before you get stuck. You get in so far you can"t reach it with anything to pull it out. You probably can guess how I know that. I"m between Grantsburg and siren. I saved several boxes of 22% corn and ground out of them all winter. Worked good.

High school kid who helps me out sometimes came over and drove the TW35 for me. Even with that much weight and fwa, it took several tries to get it out. Always makes me nervous when I have to hook onto the back end of that thing.
