We were up in the Palouse(Moscow ID) region this spring.Saw several hillside machines.Took a few [picsThe 95H and the IH 1470 are just east of St.John,WA.The new JD is on a dealers lot in Pullman WA.Every you looked,you saw hillside combines.Hillside combines are FACINATEING!Those guys farm hillsides so steep most of us would have trouble just walking!.Steve

The combine levels itself automatically so no need to be stirring another stick! :lol:

Some of the old IH's like the 453 (hillside version of the 403 and 715), levelled front to back as well as side to side. Hydraulics would raise or lower the back axle.
 
If you go to YouTube, you can find videos of Laverda hillside combines working in the Alps, going uphill with their tails raised high up. There's one of a guy working a field in Italy so steep I don't think my sheep could graze it!
