Had to rebuild the feeder house on dad's 6600 last summer. Wanted a way to make it easy/safe to do. Couldn't find anything to hold it up for me that was adjustable. So I made this! Just wanted to share and get some thoughts on it. Built this with retired equipment laying in the weeds. Look close at the upright, has an old decal of my favorite brand. What do the dealers do when they do this job?

I have seen them leave the corn head attached and remove the feeder house from the combine.

Corn head holds the feeder house for the most part with a floor jack under it toward the back to help adjust the height for removal and replacing on the combine.

Deere dealership near me uses a forklift. They have a bracket that slides on the end on the tines with a hydraulic jack set up to control the tilt. Works for them.

That looks like it would work. More often than not I've seen a cherry picker hoist used for this job. The front plate gets set down on the legs of the cherry picker while the rear is lifted by the cherry picker through a chain wrapped around the feederhouse or top shaft. It can then be moved out of the way if need be. Mike

Looks like a good setup. We just leave it on a header if we have to work on the rear of the feederhouse. We just use some jacks to line it back up with the combine.
